Kris Sunberg, Executive Director, Elder Voice Advocates (EVA), and Gerontologist Eilon Caspi, PhD, Board Member, EVA, co-hosted an interview with Mark Kosieradzki, a nursing home abuse lawyer at Kosieradzki Smith Law Firm.
The interview was held with Mark upon his retirement from his long and accomplished career. During the interview Mark shared about what has led him to enter the line of work related to the abuse and neglect of older adults in long-term care homes, what has been rewarding and disappointing for him over the years, lessons learned including advice for young lawyers who are just starting in this role, insights into the for-profit assisted living sector, critical issues related to the lack of care providers' transparency and accountability, and what he sees as the value of Elder Care IQ for families and elder law attorneys.
Mark Kosieradzki Minneapolis, MN, is a nationally recognized trial lawyer who has handled Nursing Home cases throughout the United State. CNN featured Mark’s work on sexual abuse in nursing homes. The Minneapolis Star Tribune described him as “one of the nation’s most feared elder abuse litigators.” Together with his partner, Joel Smith, they wrote Nursing Home Cases: When Care Givers stop Caring.
