A New Era of Transparency, Accountability, and Justice in Elder Care
In 2025, Elder Voice Advocates (EVA) reached a defining moment in its mission to transform elder care. Through bold advocacy, strategic partnerships, and major investments in innovation, EVA expanded its reach and strengthened its role as a national leader in elder justice, transparency, and accountability.
At the heart of this progress is Elder Care IQ, EVA’s groundbreaking public information platform that turns complex regulatory and inspection data into clear, easy-to-understand insights. Designed to help families make informed decisions about long-term care, Elder Care IQ empowers individuals with the knowledge they need during some of life’s most critical moments. In 2025, the platform expanded beyond Minnesota into South Dakota, laying the foundation for a multi-state transparency model that will serve families across the region.
This year also marked significant progress in public policy and oversight. EVA successfully defended key protections for older adults, helped secure legislative audits of long-term care oversight systems, and advanced meaningful reforms in guardianship and elder rights. These efforts are driving real change—improving accountability, strengthening regulations, and elevating the voices of older adults and their families.
Alongside policy leadership, EVA invested in organizational growth to ensure long-term sustainability and impact. New board leadership, strategic planning, and enhanced partnerships strengthened the organization’s capacity to lead regional and national initiatives. EVA also launched Care Extraordinaire, a community-focused initiative that celebrates excellence in caregiving and highlights models of dignity-centered care.
As EVA looks ahead, its vision is clear: a future where every family has access to trustworthy information, every older adult is protected by strong rights, and elder care systems operate with transparency, integrity, and compassion.
